QUESTION

I recently got a US tourist visa for 3 months and I plan on staying for one month, the only problem is that I told the visa officer I will be staying for 3 weeks.

Is there going to be a problem the next time I apply for a visa if I should stay 1 month Instead of the three months I told the visa officer?

  1. I don't think it's a problem. Circumstances change. Besides its just a week more. It's ok. But when next you want to apply, state exactly how long you stayed, to avoid complications.

  3. The most important document is the date on your visa. When you get to the US they will ask you how long you intend to stay and give you a return date on the i90.

  4. You were given 3 months even though you said 3 weeks, they expect you might want to stay beyond your stated time, you are fine.
