MY VISA EXPERIENCE

I just returned from California with my kids and it was really fun. The whole process of getting visa was quite traumatic though. My hubby of 15 years has been travelling to the us often for the past 5 years. My son\'s school decided to take the pupils on excursion to Los Angeles and my son was granted visa through the school.

My other kids protested, they were in other schools, so we decided to all apply fir visas. My hubby and my son had visas after all  My hubby did all packaging with the help of an agency. He made the mistake of including his nieces cos he was financially capable and they lived with us. On the interview date we got there on time and my hubby was even allowed to come in with us. But as soon as the lady interview began, she totally ignored all documents and kept on asking why we ha to take my kids cousin, note their dad resides in the us, we tried all we could but we were refused.

My hubby immediately reapplied but followed the advice of the consular guards who felt sorry for my kids. I could not understand why we were refused cos i had been to UK, Dubai, India and even US before. We dropped the cousins and asked for an expedited date cos we wanted to go with my sons school. We got to the Lagos embassy, only to be told that the consular would not work that day. We had to refill the forms and ask for another date. On the 3rd date At the embassy, d interview grilled for over 30 mins! She kept on asking about the cousins we brought previously. My hubby was not allowed in this time.i think the confidence if my young kids win them over cos they kept on telling the lady they had to be in LA cos their brother was having all the fun. They told her their dad was rich but he was getting tired of lodging us in Raddinson blue. They were answering all her questions even before i could.she then left for like 15 mins and when she returned she said she would give us the visa, 2 years! And we should pick it up the next Monday. We left for LA Monday night! Sometimes the kids can really save the day.
